About CME Nasdaq 100 Futures

The U.S. economy is being transformed by exciting technological changes and advancements in science and industry. Many of the leading companies involved in this process are a part of the Nasdaq Index. Nasdaq futures have been designed by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to track the Nasdaq 100 Index, a modified capitalization-weighted index of 100 of the largest and most active non-financial, domestic stocks traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The Nasdaq 100 is widely considered to be a key benchmark of technology, telecom, and biotechnology issues.

Nasdaq futures are powerful and versatile instruments, whether you intend to risk your own capital for investment reward, or wish to insulate your stock portfolio from risk. Nasdaq futures afford some unique advantages, allowing you to:

Participate in small-cap market moves with one trading decision, without having to select individual issues. Just trade Nasdaq 100 futures instead – the index is designed to be an accurate proxy for a diversified portfolio of small-cap U.S. stocks.

Benefit from a bull market move even before funds become available to purchase stock. Like all futures contracts, Nasdaq index futures require only a small margin deposit. You can trade stock index futures contracts with a relatively small investment.

optionsXpress clients have the ability to trade Nasdaq futures as well as a number of other leading global stock indexes, including the S&P 500, Russell 2000, and MidCap 400. If you trade stock index futures, optionsXpress is the online futures broker for you!
